Alberto Migliucci is the Founder and CEO of Petra Commodities, a boutique advisory firm connecting capital and opportunity across the natural resources, mining, and energy sectors. With more than three decades of international experience, he is recognised as one of the most accomplished strategic advisors in the Asia–Pacific resources industry.
A qualified geologist and senior investment banker, Migliucci built his career at the highest levels of investment banking and global finance. He held the positions of Managing Director, Head of Mining & Metals and Head of Energy for Asia/Global Energy Group.
Over his career, he has executed and advised on more than US$150 billion in mining, energy, and resource transactions, working with governments, corporates, and investors to unlock value across frontier and established markets. At Credit Suisse Investment Bank, he led landmark transactions that defined an era of investment in Asia — earning Credit Suisse the #1 ranking in advisory league tables (2008–2013, Thomson Reuters).
Before founding Petra Commodities, Migliucci held senior positions in addition to Credit Suisse, at Standard Bank of South Africa, Société Générale, Westpac, and Sumitomo Bank of Japan.
A qualified geologist by training, Alberto brings a deep technical understanding of the earth’s resources. What sets him apart is his rare ability to bridge geology and finance, translating technical resource fundamentals into strategic, commercial and valuation-driven insights.
Migliucci is a First Class Honours graduate in Science with a Major in Geology from the University of New South Wales and holds a Master of Applied Finance from Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia.
